Counting Down

Edie and EK have been packed for several days and the trip is still four days away! The mil10s and modie will make the drive later this week. This time we will be driving straight to the beach without a stop halfway. I can't wait. Florida, here we come!

You Just Never Know

They say that life is full of surprises. Forest Gump compares it to a box of chocolates, because you don't know what to expect.

We are back at Fair Park today. This time we came to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Naturally we arrived early after a meal at Mia's. Muy bueno!

While waiting in the Music Hall, EK saw Batman walk by. Yes, Batman. He told EK to be good to his parents. Next thing we knew Wonder Woman and Supergirl were sitting in the lobby. Captain America was standing by the door. Spider-Man walked by a few minutes later. Suddenly-shy-EK didn't want to have his picture taken with them.

Super heroes at a musical. Go figure!

Pulling Another Tooth

Last night I returned from San Antonio. I was worn out from the drive. We didn't really get home until about 8:30. I was glad to be home with my family.

EK has been trying to pull his seventh tooth this week. His first goal was to have it out by Father's Day. When he didn't meet that goal, he wanted to have it out before I returned from my trip. He didn't make that goal either.

He was not going to give up. Not too many minutes after getting home, it was time for me to help him pull the tooth. This time I really coached him through it and he was the one doing all of the work.

Now I present to you pictures from the event.

This was before we really got started. See, everyone is smiling.

EK hard at work. He does not enjoy pulling teeth AT ALL!

Is that a smile? It has to be! Seven years old and seven teeth out.

Cup Holders Where?

jmmil10 is on the way to San Antonio for a school conference.

We stopped at a convenience store, aka a gas station, in Austin. In the restroom there was a cup holder above the urinal. There was another one next to the sink. The ladies on the trip said their restroom did not have cup holders.

Cup holders in the restroom. I wonder if that will catch on. Maybe it is an Austin thing.

A Funny Thing Was Said

Today is the big test day for level completion at swimming lessons. Sometimes EK will play on the playground while waiting for lessons to begin.

Today is different. Since he has to swim the length of the deep end, he did not want to do a lot of climbing on the playground.

"I want to rest my guns," he said.
