Clouds

Blogging has not been happening lately. I thought blogging everyday during the shortest month of the year seemed like a really attainable goal, but it didn't happen.

Tonight I was browsing the Android marketplace and found a new-to-me Blogger app. Woo hoo! I think I will give it a test drive for a few posts and see if I find it any easier than blogging from my computer desktop. However, I can already say that downside number one has to be the lack of a reliable spellcheck.  Goodness knows I need one!

Now on to this post's topic. I am not sure why am compelled to take pictures of clouds. It is kind of a sad hobby. My phone is full of sunrises, sunsets, storm clouds, and more. Let's see how easily this new Blogger app will let me share them with you.

Enjoy.

BIG: Spell Check Checked Out

Come on Blogger.  Help me out!

I have never been what I call a confident speller.  When I am writing, for example, if I am unsure about the proper spelling of a word, I will just rephrase the sentence in order to use a word that I am sure I will spell correctly.  I always get a little nervous when I am sitting in a meeting and the presenter asks, "Who would like to take notes for us on the board at the front of the room while we all stare at you?"  I work with educators.  Who wants to be the one that looks like a bad speller?  Then of course when typing I have fallen victim to the correctly spelled word used in the incorrect place more than my fair share.  Late night blogging to meet a midnight deadline doesn't help matters either.  I know, undoubtedly, that I could be a better proofreader, but it seems that it is always most difficult to find errors in one's own work.  After all, I know what I am trying to say.  But when I am typing, the problem should be made better with a spell check button.

Why, oh why can't there be a spell check feature?  During the previous eighteen days of blogging this has been a repeated hassle:  Type in Blogger.  Highlight text.  Copy text.  Paste in Word.  Look for misspelled words.  Change them on Blogger page.  Post blog entry.  It is a BIG bother.  Once I tried typing in Word then pasting the body of text in Blogger, but the formatting was a wreck.

I may be alone on this issue, but I can say that I would benefit from spell check on Blogger!  It would make blogging so much easier!

A Whole Lot of Nothing

Blogging lately just has not been happening.  I have been reading everyone's interesting posts about what is going on in their homes, deep thoughts, or new discoveries in far away lands.  I like to check blogs and the links on other friends' blogs to see who has updated and what they have to share.  Despite it all, I have not found (or made) time to sit down at the computer and type myself.

Is it Facebook?  I haven't gone a whole day without it since I jumped on board in the fall.  Is it my 2010 resolutions getting in the way?  I have to squeeze in time to exercise and drink all that water somehow.  I am not really sure.  Maybe it doesn't matter.  Quality over quantity, right?

I have been really interested in reading how Denyse has committed to a post a day during the month of January.  In addition to blogging everyday, she has tied all of her posts to one month long theme!  Wow!  I decided to see what NaBloPoMo has for its next theme, but could not find it.  Well have to see if it is a topic that this mil10 can relate to.

Sigh. Tomorrow is a new day.  Let's see what happens.  Maybe it will be something that inspires me to share here.  You never know!

Global Blogger, Really?

A few months ago, while the whole blogging hobby was very new to me, I added a Feedjit live traffic feed monitor.  It captured my curiosity almost immediately.  Soon thereafter I added the same information in the form of a map.  If these little tools from Feedjit are accurate, I can quickly see that someone from almost every continent has stumbled across the mil10 blog.  There really were dots in Asia yesterday and I still have hopes for Africa.  However, I don't think I will hold my breath for visits from Antarctica.

Why?  I don't know.  I can't explain it.  What was posted that brought someone from Spain or Greece here?  Is there someone in Sydney, Australia that has the same interests as the mil10s?  Why more Brazilians over Canadians?  I can't answer those questions, but it does make me wonder!  And then my mind drifts back to the fourth sentence of this post.  "If these little tools from Feedjit are accurate..."
